25mpg combined for the M/T on the GT Sport and 28mpg combined for the DCT on the GT Sport. Not bad at all, I'll be pretty content with that. But we still need to see real world data.

Just look toward the Elantra Sport community apparently they are running the same engines and ES's have been on the road for the past 6+ months. Could even ask your dealer what numbers they're seeing.

Slight differences in weight and what not will slightly skew those results. Obviously though, driving habits and what not would as well so getting a general number with a +/- 2 or 3mpg should be a good indication

Correct, its almost always a result of driving habits from what I noticed along with other things like environment condition. I think with some of the extreme weather that has been seen across the U.S. and Canada we might see some slightly low numbers sometimes. Wind resistance for example can harm those numbers.

Too many factors if we really want to break it all down. Altitude, slopes, traffic conditions, weather, etc. all make changes.

there sure is and maybe over time we will find that the EPA will start to require that car makers start to post real world fuel economy numbers, the industry is at a point where that's glowingly important and its one way they can put a stop to cheating car makers.

I don't really mind if real world tests come back with a rating that's a bit off, like 2-3 mpg. Though those test numbers will need to come from those automotive publications after a day of driving.

EPA is going to require those numbers now anyways so regardless we will see them from the start no matter who is putting out the numbers. We might even get better MPG's than reported just so car makers can play it safe.
