Hey everyone. Brand new to the Hyundai family. Just purchased a 2018 Elantra GT 2.0. The previous owner removed the muffler and installed just installed a pipe and new tip.
The sound is terrible and the drone sound on the highway is quite annoying. Any recommendations on a axle back exhaust that is somewhat quiet? Or is anyone looking to get rid of their factory muffler?

Thanks in advance!
cheers

You're probably best off just going to a muffler shop and asking them to weld a muffler in. You could probably get out the door for under $200. There's no axleback system cheaper than that and shipping a stock muffler is gonna be way more than $200 (in my estimation). Also, you may want to look at local junkyards. Ours has an app that will alert you when they receive a vehicle you're looking for. The exhaust system is held on by two bolts and three hangers if memory serves. Its legit 20 minutes of work to get it off.

Hi: All... Our 2018 GT exhaust sys. nearly fell off due to a Mfgr's defect but the dealer is closed due to Co-Vivid. Had to get the local muffler shop to make a collar to add a bit to the length to correct the problem!!!

Does anyone know if it’s possible to run a Sport exhaust on a Base model? Obviously I would have to cut a spot for the left pipe, but other than that?
I would like to know also ! Unfortunately Ive been told countless times that the evac box can not be moved, & so a dual exhaust is not possible on base model.
But I still have hopes that it’s possible!
Let me know
