I've had my car since the beginning of 2019, and my 2 year "free trial" of BlueLink is about to expire. The app/remote functions worked for about six months, and quit. The dealership wouldn't help me, and it was always over an hour to talk to someone from BlueLink. So I gave up on it.

Then I saw a thread on this site about upgrading the nav software. Once I did that, it reset the modem, and started working again! I was so excited because it's winter and I wanted to use the remote start function.

It worked for about 2 days and now doesn't work anymore. Seems like the absolute worst decision to require an app (which takes 1-3 minutes to actually work, when it does), just for something like remote start. Instead of paying, checks notes, $9.90 a month (!) to continue, I think I'll just pay to get a good remote start fob.

Has anyone else had these issues?

Once I got BlueLink transferred (as I bought my car certified pre-owned), which was admittedly a little bit of work, mine has worked well.

Originaly, I wanted the remote start in the fob, like my 10th-gen Honda Civic. However, I see it as six of one, half a dozen of the other. I can start my car from a lot more than a thousand feet away; I can start it in the locker room at the gym, giving it a little extra time to warm up in winter. The app lets one schedule maintenance through the dealer, and has some diagnostic features, and does have custom climate control options.

The downside is that it comes as a service. Being that my car was pre-owned, I got 20 months instead of three years. I'm waiting to renew because I've heard that if you're close to the end, you can call and they'll often offer a deal. But it's not incredibly expensive (like, say, what BMW might charge).

I'd advise working between the dealer, and Hyundai support to get this resolved; I can't think your setup is that different from mine. I'd probably start by testing from close range to see if it's an LTE communications issue, and try re-syncing the head unit up to BlueLink.
