Hyundai has announced that a new package will be introduced to the GT for customers in Canada. It will feature larger brakes, stiffer springs, re-tuned dampers and a quicker steering rack. More power is also on tap with the 1.6l turbo now producing 201hp and 195lb-ft of torque. It will start at $27,199 for the base and upwards of $30,699 fully loaded.

I think if it wasn't for the fact that Toyota and Mazda are coming out with hot hatch trims of their own, Hyundai would have kept the Elantra GT mundane and boring.

Canada didn't get the 1.6 turbo for the 2018 GTS?

This is more of a cosmetic package. Power output doesn't seem to have changed over the current GTS, but I have seen mention of larger brakes, stiffer springs, re turned dampers and a quicker steering rack. This model is a replacement for the GT Sport for Canada.

Yes, the 1.8T is still the same 201 hp and 195 torque, while cosmetics are great to look at they have not done really much.....I am voting for the real euro model N...

that said, I was also told the Sonata will become N version in a few years to match to the Stinger.........we shall see.
