Kia has indicated that the upcoming GT version of their hatchback will be using the same powertrain as the Elantra GT. This model also comes with sportier revised bumpers and red accents, as well as red brake calipers and a lowered suspension. The main highlight however is the double exhaust system and a factory rear diffuser. I haven't seen any pricing listed yet. What do we think of it?

It looks good. I've been holding off getting a Kona or Elantra Sport (gave up on trying to get hold of a GT Sport)... delaying might pay off if it isn't too much longer - though even if it does appear in April or so, chances are good we won't be able to get one here til late next year, and that would be too long for me. I definitely want to get a new car before next summer is underway.

Both interior and exterior look more refined than the Elantra GT Sport (see more shots on Kia UK's web site where it's already released). My wife's Kia Soul certainly has a better quality interior than the Kona and Elantra Sport that I tested, so that would follow.

I prefer the side profile of the Elantra GT Sport, but the front and back of the Ceed. Oh, this takes me back. Had the same kind of conflict with the Santa Fe and Sorento last time I bought a car.

I like it, but I am not a fan of Kia grills. That also pushes me to the G70 over the Stinger. Put them side by side with the same options and prices, I think I would still take the more soft spoken Elantra GTS. I also prefer round exhaust tips over body contoured.

Still glad to see the Kia following its sister with another good hot hatch.

Kia really has found their stride when it comes to the styling of their new vehicles. Say what you will about the badge, but they have made an incredible amount of progress over the past few years. If the i30N ever makes it way stateside, it'll be no contest.

You make a good point about the GTS being soft spoken... being something of a sleeper is certainly one of its strengths.

I think I’d choose it over the Kia now that I think it through... and assuming I could get one.
