I think I am starting to develop a picture in regards to the limitations of the DCT. Appears if performance is increased through a tune or piggy back unit it should stay under the 250 ft/lb limitation. The clutches will be the achilles heel as it is with other manufactures. Is always tempting to exceed the limit but now I know I will have problems if I do.
Unlike the new 8spd DCT of the Veloster N and the 2021 Elantra N, (made for its 275hp, 260lb-ft 2.0L T-GDI engine) which has a wet clutch, the 7spd DCT of the Veloster Turbo Ultimate and Elantra GT N-Line is a dry clutch. I find it likely that it just doesn't have the ability to be pushed beyond a certain spec.
To the OP: That said, an intake and an exhaust shouldn't be enough to push you outside of spec for the DCT, they're not insane horsepower gains. Still, if you're having issues, pull the intake and put the stock one back in temporarily to get a dealer to take care of you.
