Oil capacity?

I know the manual says 4.8 quarts of oil for the 1.6 turbo in my Elantra GT N-line, but it shows over the full line on the dipstick every time I change the oil and filter.

Are you lifting the front way up when doing the change? The plug is at the front of the pan so when you do that a lot of oil stays in the rear of the pan and can't drain out. I use a couple of 2x4 as ramps it gives me just enough room to do the service.

Fuel dilution not uncommon on Turbo direct injection engines. Same issue with my 2018 GT Sport.

Fuel is being introduced into the oil, thus diluting the oil and lowering viscosity. Probably why a few years ago Hyundai issued a technical service bulletin recommendeing changing to 5w-40 oil for these 1.6 turbo motors.
