Hello everyone, I'm a proud owner of a 2018 Elantra GT Sport with tech package and had the pleasure of driving it for few months now. I've been posting on another forum and just found out about this place, so decided to share my experiences so far in here.

To begin with my initial purchase experience, I came across this vehicle by chance while in dealership to repair my beat up 2011 Accent. The sales rep brought this car around for test drive while I was waiting, and I was immediately hooked by it. First of all, the amount of features available were stunning. The Lane Assist worked fantastic, especially after setting it to 'Active Mode', and combined with the Adaptive Cruise Control, it really gave me a taste of what a fully automated car might feel like during an 8 hour trip to the Big Bend National Park. However, the real joy came from actually driving the vehicle, I simply loved the acceleration and smoothness of it. Even though all my previous vehicles were manual transmission, DCT did an amazing job moving through the gears, way faster/smoother than I could shift honestly. Combined with the Infinity sound system, blue link app that allows me to remote lock/unlock/start the vehicle, blind-spot detection radar, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay, great built-in navigation, and auto high-beam feature, I truly haven't enjoy a vehicle like this in my lifetime. Considering everything came out to 25K, I simply cannot be any happier with the purchase.

Since then, I've purchase a lot of parts for the vehicle listed below and been slowly getting them installed. Please feel free to contact me for any questions regarding these parts and I will definitely be sharing pictures of the install process, then report back with feedback on it. For now, here are some pictures and clip of my BOV + JunBL Axle-Back Exhaust in action.

Pilot Sport A/S 3+ Tires, Tork Dual Oil Catch Can, SR 3" Open Filter Intake, SR 63mm Big Bore Throttle Body, JunBL Axle-Back Exhaust, Tork Pipe, Tork Downpipe, System BOV, SR Front/Rear Stabilizer Bars, HSD Coilover, and SR Windblock / Noise Supression Molding Kit.

Love my 2018 Elantra GT Sport too

I got my GT Sport last Nov when the only one available within a 80 mile radius was on sale at my local dealer for like $26K, fully loaded, drove off the lot with it at $18K. I too love this little car, the turbo has great getup, the DCT does shift well and smooth, and with all the features for a car under $30K, really hard to pass up (was coming from a 2012 Veloster N/A). Too bad they didn't off a 2.0L turbo like the i30N, but 201 HP anen't bad. I'm also looking to eventually add some mods, but I've been waiting until the 2018 model specific mods come out as I wasn't sure about form and fit; I know the engine's the same, but wasn't sure how well the parts for the 2017 meshed up (most places just say 2017+). I'd love to know how well those parts you got fit, performance you got, and any pictures you have of them would be great. :D

My biggest concern was what its get up and go power would be like and your take on that has restored my faith in the GT. However, coming from a history of V6's and V8's.... i'm still skeptical. Hence why i'm sitting on the sidelines, waiting for a sportier GT. Not into doing modifications any more, a complete out of the box product is what i'm after.

It does have some good pep for a little 4 cylinder. But I agree on power, I do wish they gave us the 2.0L turbo like the European i30n as an option, now that would be fun. Hopefully, the 2019 Veloster will get the N treatment in the US.

Mods

Can't wait to see your mods Mizerab1e! I'm thinking of doing something lighter to mine like fog lights and cosmetics.

Also, Mizerab1e and dmonkyking. When you say 18k, 25k, 26k how much did you guys get it for? Is that sale price or after your down payment?
I'm beginning to feel ripped off

After all discounts, cash, trade-ins etc., mine came to around $18K. Dealer's price was around $26K (off the original price of $29K).

What’s up guys I am also a new owner to the 18 Elantra GT Sport. I’m loving it so far and I was also thinking about modding it as well, I’ve already installed a cold air intake from SXTHElement.com.. was wondering where else and what else I should do. I purchased a boost control solenoid upgrade from tork/damnfastdd, waiting to install that later but any recommendations? Also I have a 7 speed auto not a manual, everyday I kinda wish I grabbed a manual but oh well!

Welcome.

I always though that doing other air and fuel modifications is a great way to continue what you're already doing. Would you consider getting exhaust done?

An exhaust is definitely in the picture but the question is from where. The only one I was able to find was shark racing

How did it handle all the various roads at Big Bend? I was planning on going down there (DFW here) this month, but plans changed. WE were planning on going in a F150. Do you have to travel much on 35 in Austin? We were there last week....Not a fan of Austin on 35.

Mizerab1e, I love what you have done so far to your GT. I was wondering if you would answer a few of questions. Do you know how much extra power it is putting out, is your noise suppression molding kit from Shark Racing and does it make a big difference in lessening road noise?
