I just picked up a set of four nice rims locally for what I would have paid for steel wheels. They're 17x7 with a 48 offset. They came with 225/50s winter tires already on them which are a similar width but slightly taller (9.8mm added all around according to willtheyfit.com --speedo error of just under 3%). I'm running the 225/40/18s on the stock N-Line wheels (18x7.5 +53 offset)
Does anyone have any recommendations or thoughts about installing these? I called my local tire shop and they basically said they didn't want to put anything on my car at all because they were afraid of not knowing the sizing and liability for damage ... that kind of spooked me. The dealer was even worse for not wanting to touch anything.
What do you all recommend? Any reason to not just jack it up and give it a shot (other than the fact I'm scared of screwing up my new car)?
