Strange how these are popular in the "True North" but pretty much non-existent here in the US. I think I've seen half a dozen total so far and not a single Sport. I do see a good amount of the previous generation hatch, but with the current buying trends going full speed ahead to crossovers, I am thinking this will be the last Elantra GT generation to go on sale in the US. Shame.

I would like to have exact amount if possible. 'few k's' could $2k or $5k...
Popular???? I have not seen not ONE GT on the road as of yet. At Pineview used to work very friendly, car liking Asian guy. Unfortunately he moved to Subaru...
All dealers I initially inquired gave me price (all incl) which was even greater than Hyundai Canada web site. No wonder I do not see GT on the road. Stupid salespeople...
I do not think car is selling well as Hyundai now offers $1500 special price reduction. It used to be 500, then 1000... Maybe they will offer 5000 soon.

Hyundai is offering $2500 rebate in the US. When the 2018 GT first hit dealers around here, most dealers had ~15 cars in stock, with maybe 2 or 3 being a sport, and maybe 1 being a sport with Tech Pkg. 5 months later, when I started really shopping around, most of these dealers still had ~50% of these same cars in stock, but no one had a GT Sport with Tech Pkg. I think no one is buying the low to mid tier trims because they would rather get a crossover or a civic. The higher end Sport with tech is a bit of a niche product. The price point is high enough to compete with larger crossovers, focus STs, Camry, Accord, etc. They advantage the GT Sport Tech has is that it gives you full speed range adaptive cruise (along with some other nice toys), which are not really available on anything in this price range. Most people would rather go with crossovers that lack these features.

Only seen one on the road here too, and none in the dealership. Doesn't help that they say they can't even get one (order freeze). If I am patient and wait til next year and get one, bet I pay MORE than the Hyundai Canada web site price for this province. I understand there's the registration fee on top, but the Kona and Elantra Sport prices I was quoted were both ~$1500 over the web site price, and they had both of those in stock. I'm pretty sure they won't haggle on something they don't have in stock.

Hyundai is VERY BAD. They do not care if they sell cars or not. How am I supposed to buy a car without test-driving it? No GT Sport for test-drive in GTA. And if they have it, it is in a showroom only. Not to dirty tires...
Most likely I will go for Accord 2.0 Turing. For THAT thing I can get a feeling even if I cannot drive it: I can drive 1.5 Touring (same equipment as 2.0 Touring) and 2.0 Sport (less equipment then Turing but same gearbox and engine as 2.0 Touring).
SHAME ON YOU HYUNDAI.
