Which CAI Should I go with?

Hey all,

For the EGTN-Line I'm debating between these two intakes.

AfE Stage 2 (https://afepower.com/afe-power-56-10005r-takeda-stage-2-pro-5r-cold-air-intake-system)

K&N (https://www.knfilters.ca/cold-air-intakes/69-5317ts-performance-air-intake-system)

What do you think is the best intake out there, and which would you recommend? I don't care too much about the noise, but am more looking for whichever will add the best chance of performance increase when paired with a new cat back exhaust.

Thanks!

Not sure...I have researched the afe...looks awesome. Install looks easy too. What about an air scoop to pair with it? Or is the factory set up adequate?

Did you end up choosing one or the other? I have been looking at exhaust after markets. Kinda like the stock though. Some fairly original snaps and cracks.

I like the stock exhaust noises as well.

I haven't chosen one yet as I think I'll do exhaust and intake at the same time -- which is looking to be next month.

The stock intake is basically a CAI already though.. so I'm still debating if it's actually worth it.

Yeah, I read that too. Maybe just the afe stage 2 then. Would amplify the affect of the factory CAI.

I spoke with the guy at AFE today and he says it will gain 14 hp I’m stock form. I don’t know how true it is but it would be worth it if that were the case. Tune or no tune ya know.

I did actually call AFE and he stated that there were dyno results which I saw. You can only hope what they are saying is true. I will
Say that the response is better and it pulls harder in 2nd and third. And most importantly the turbo surge is pretty much gone. For 280.00 it’s not a bad upgrade.

So when all is said and done a CAI in Canada is about 500 bucks CDN... which is quite a bit of money.

The Dyno's you can read on AFEs website are done while the car has a cat-back exhaust on it. While they do still compare the stock to the new intake... having that cat-back might make an appreciable difference to move that extra air through the car.

There's no doubt you'll get a performance gain... it's just whether or not it's noticeable in your drive which it sounds like for you it is!
