So as the picture above in the banner shows the USA model has orange LED DRLs or it did.... I was on the road today and saw a new 2019 (said on the dealer plate) and their DRLs were white!

I guess they changed them? I can see in my DLRs LEDs that we have both diodes in the light housing to do both colors but for some reason they made ours just orange.

So the question is....would there be a new computer reflash that would make ours turn on the white diodes and switch to orange when the turn signal is on? Like the Canadian version?

I'd be curious to know....at the same time you can tell which ones are the "original" 2018s. :D

P.s. I live in Texas so I doubt it was one from Canada. I guess it could be from Mexico?

I have a 2019 N Line, and it has the yellow DRL LEDs. At first I was curious about trying to change them to white in order to resemble the i30 N, but now the yellow has started to grow on me. Maybe that's because my car is white, so the yellow adds some contrast. Either way, I am also curious about whether this can be easily modified.

Pretty sure that the Manual and DCT have white DRLs with Amber switchbacks for the turn signals, while the Ultimate (w/Tech Pack) has Amber for both. I have a 2018 EGTS Ultimate and that's how they differentiated the top model for 2018. I assume they did the same for the new N-Line.

2018 Sport / Ultimate and 2019 N Lines have the amber DLRs because they also act as the turn signals. Notice these have the LED full headlights do not have a turn signal in the headlight housing. Thus, the DRLs must be amber and are the turn signal. Base GTs have white DRLs because the projection headlights also contain a turn signal bulb in them.

Ahh now that is true, I didn't think about the other trims having the halogen combination lights and therefore also having the turn signal in them.

Though I still think that it doesn't make any sense. There are plenty of cars that have white DRLs that turn orange to act as the turn signal too. (Others still that turn off the white LED trim lights so on-coming cars can see their signal etc.)

Still seems to be a matter of programming and I would think for uniformity they would make all of them white and have the GT Ultimate's with the LED headlights DRLs switch to orange when the turn signal is activated. I guess it could've been done multiple ways but I just think their choice was odd, if nothing else simpler to program.

I am getting used to them however though all white has an appeal. Since mine is grey I don't have the color contrast that a white one would benefit from.

I have the 2019 GT N Line (Summit Gray) with DCT and I too wished the DRLs were white that turn orange/amber when using the turn signals.
